Privacy policy
The short version: this site doesn't sell anything, show ads, or build profiles. Google Analytics only runs if you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time.
Who's responsible
This site is run by Jean-Sébastien Daigle (Js Daigle), who is also the person in charge of protecting personal information. Questions or requests: Bonjour@jsdaigle.com.
What I collect, and why
Visit statistics (only with your consent)
If you click "Accept", Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you got here, your approximate location (city or country), and your device and browser type. I only use it to see which pages are useful. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_Y1HZX3T007, which last up to two years. If you decline, Google Analytics never loads and no cookies are set.
Your consent choice
Your answer to the banner is stored in your browser's local storage so it doesn't ask again. It never leaves your device.
Emails
If you write to me, I use your name, email address, and message only to reply. I don't add you to any mailing list.
Booking a call
The links to book a call go to Google Calendar's appointment page. What you enter there is handled by Google under its own privacy policy, and I receive it to plan the meeting.
Server logs
Like most websites, my web host may keep standard technical logs (IP address, date, page requested, browser) for security and troubleshooting.
What I don't do
- I don't sell or rent any personal information.
- No ads or ad personalization: the site tells Google your data can't be used for advertising.
- No profiling and no automated decisions about you.
Who else sees the data
Only Google (Analytics and Calendar) and my web host. Google may process this data outside Québec, including in the United States, where privacy protections can differ from Québec's.
How long I keep it
Google Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months, then deleted automatically. Emails are kept as long as they're useful to our exchange or a project that follows from it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by writing to Bonjour@jsdaigle.com. I reply within 30 days.
To change your analytics choice right now:
If you're not satisfied with my answer, you can file a complaint with theCommission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Links to other sites
This site links to LinkedIn, Instagram, and other sites. They have their own privacy policies, which are worth a look.
Changes
If my practices change, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
