Previsio

Design sprintPrototypeFinancial tool
Financial forecasts for entrepreneurs, built from plain questions instead of a blank spreadsheet.
  • 2days of UX workshops to shape the first version
  • 8versions of the prototype, built during the sprint
  • $0for entrepreneurs today: no trial, no premium account
Every business plan has a part entrepreneurs dread: the numbers. The ÉEQ wanted to replace the Excel template.

The École des entrepreneurs du Québec trains entrepreneurs across Québec. With a grant from TD's Ready Challenge, it set out to build a free financial forecast tool: revenues, expenses, cash, and the ratios a banker looks at.

In 2019, Libéo got the mandate for a Design Sprint and a code sprint. I took part in the framing, co-facilitated the UX workshops with Éric Letarte and designed the prototype, from the first question to the dashboard.

Framed it. A framing day with the ÉEQ in January 2019, with OKRs to measure the first version.
Planned the MVP. What the first version had to do for an entrepreneur, and what could wait.
Workshopped it. Two days of UX workshops in March 2019, co-facilitated with Éric Letarte.
Prototyped it. A clickable prototype in Axure, from the first question to the dashboard.
Tested it. A test scenario on the prototype, then a report to plan the code sprint.

Where Previsio is today

The tool went live after the sprint, and it's still online. It's free for every entrepreneur, with no trial and no premium account. It builds a balance sheet, a monthly cash budget and an income statement, and tells you whether your financing is enough, whether you'll have the cash to operate, and whether you'll make a profit.

The full story, with the screens and the workshop details, is best told in person. Book 30 minutes with me to talk about it.

Two days of workshops, a prototype in eight versions, and a free tool that still helps entrepreneurs face the numbers of their business plan.
